My guy

Grant has become quite a reader lately. He's very, very good at reading but (like Hope) really enjoys when we read to him. He's suddenly turned the corner on preferring chapter books to story books, and has devoured all ten Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, Big Friendly Giant, and now Harry Potter. He really enjoys snuggling up for some reading and back scratching, and who can argue with that?

He enjoys just about anything that involves curling up with Mama Bird, getting a back or hair scratch, and talking on and on about some random topic. Lately he's gotten it in his mind that he'll grow up and open a babysitting service or a doggy daycare, and he likes to sit and "plan" them together. We talk about how the building will look, what supplies he'll need, the things he'll do during the day ... on and on, and it usually gets goofy. But it's always sweet Buddy time!
