We love J&A!

Just a few short years ago, most of our circle of friends was kid-less. None of us would trade our kids for anything, but ah, the freedom and fun we had back then! Remembering the sound sleep, the spur of the moment vacations, the dinners out and movie dates ... it could bring a tear to the eye.

We were particularly blessed, in our kid-less phase, to know J&A - a couple we clicked with instantly, both liked equally, and best of all they lived super close. Besides scheduled times together in church and small group, we did all kinds of things together from spontaneous breakfasts to Tae Bo classes. But then, they moved :(

And then they had a kid.
Then we had a kid.
Then they had another kid.
Then WE had another kid.
Then they had ANOTHER kid.

Phew.

So now everything is completely different. But fortunately, J&A are still as awesome as ever, and they only live just over an hour away. Remarkably, we're still able to connect deeply when we get together, even with five kiddos in the mix.

It doesn't hurt that the kids seem to like each other. On a recent visit to J&A's house, Grant and Eden were happy baby blobs while Eliana, Micah, and Hope had their way with the dress-up clothes. Hope was in 7th heaven ...

Little Micah - doesn't he look like a shepherd?

And Eliana was so sweet to let Hope wear her clothes, play with her toys, and get into all her art stuff. At naptime, Eliana even helped Hope pick out a 'friend' to sleep with and a book for me to read to her.
Speaking of naptime, we had 4 out of the 5 kids sleeping at the same time that day. It was a miracle :) Or at least a blessing, that we could spend some uninterrupted time catching up with our favorite friends!
