In a tight spot

Tales of Grant's mischevious ways shouldn't surprise anyone anymore. The evidence of his curious, clever, stubborn ways is abundant. And everyone knows about his propensity for ending up places where he doesn't belong.

Despite all that, I found myself a bit surprised last night when he got his head stuck in a booth at a restaurant. Yes, his head. Was stuck. In a booth. Sigh.

Imagine a booth with a very high wooden back, with large squares cut into it. Grant was standing in the booth and just leaned his head back. I think that's when he noticed the hole, and just turned his head slightly to get a better semi-upside-down look at it. But that slight turn of the head caused his big ole 'grape' to be at just the wrong angle to get back out of the hole. He was literally trapped by the forehead!

When he discovered that he was stuck he wanted outta there! But since we couldn't get him to turn his head back and free himself, Daddy had to pick up and turn his entire body to get his head back out. The whole thing only lasted a few seconds, but it was memorable! And from our angle across the booth, Hope and I thought it looked awfully funny :)

Our poor waiter and the hostess seemed pretty shaken up about it. They must not have little boys at home!

J and I were laughing so hard at your story! At least he was able to get out easily!

He was pretty freaked out though...and being laughed at certainly didn't help him relax. But after it was over he was all "telling" the hostess all about it waving his little chubby arm at the hole and jabbering away in his Grant speak.

I wonder how many more times his curiosity will lead him into trouble?

I LOVE the way he looks at the world. "EVERYTHING is SO EXCITING!!!! Everything is so COOL! WOW!"
