Tonight I witnessed quite possibly the cutest thing I've ever seen. I'm still catching my breath from the sheer adorableness!
After books, songs, and a cuddle, I laid Grant in his crib. He's been getting sooo much better about going to sleep easily, and even by himself (more on that later). So when he didn't protest being put down, I said good night and ducked around the corner to watch him for awhile. I'm so glad I did!
He rubbed his eyes and fidgeted for a minute. Then he settled on his back, put his arms up in the air, and started 'singing' the Itsy Bitsy Spider. I just taught it to him today, and he can really only do the spider part. But he laid there in his crib, doing his spider, babbling his version of the song. And then? He clapped for himself and said, "Yay!"
It was heart-stoppingly sweet and innocent. That little boy who is so often making a mess, touching something he shouldn't, and running me ragged has an unbeatable ability to make me swoon!
