18 months

Grant had his 18 month checkup the other day. It's crazy that he's already a year and a half! Fortunately, he got over some little stomach bug he had just in time to earn a clean bill of health from the pediatrician. His height and weight are right at the 50th percentile, and his head measured at the 75th. All those brains, I tell ya.

For the most part Grant was a total trooper during the exam. He cracked me up though because at one point he was so distracted/concerned about the pen he saw that had been dropped behind the exam table - he couldn't lay down or focus on anything else, he just kept pointing into the crack and saying "Uh oh! Uh oh!"

The trouble came when we had to wait an exorbitant amount of time for the nurse to come and administer his FOUR shots. We were trapped in a tiny room with almost nothing to do for 25 minutes, which is an eternity in toddler world. By the time he actually got the shots, it was almost a relief just because that meant we could finally leave! Of course he cried for the shots, and yes it was terribly sad, but he handled it better than I expected (i.e. no vomit). Yay Grant!
