I am priviledged, lucky, fortunate and BLESSED to be able to spend everyday with Hope. Being home with baby is not something that everyone wants to do, or can do. But I really want to, and I can, and I'm so so so thankful!
Hope wakes up happy every day, and we spend several minutes hugging and kissing and playing before she even gets out of bed. Then we open her window shades, say hello to the world, and talk about the day. After a diaper change, I ask her "want to eat?" to which she nods and runs off to the kitchen. If I haven't made coffee already, she helps by pushing the button. After breakfast we get ourselves dressed and ready to go out someplace. A playdate, an errand, a park, or whatever is on the agenda.
We usually do whatever we're doing until lunchtime, which is followed by naptime. Ah, naptime! Sometimes I wish naptime were longer (that 3 hour nap has only happened once), but because she wakes up cuddly, I'm more than happy to go in and get her. After a little snack we'll play inside for awhile, or walk around outside and explore the yard. Before long it's time to make dinner and get ready for Daddy to get home. Daddy is usually greeted with Hope kisses through the baby gate at the top of the stairs. Even though he always has his suit jacket, gym bag, lunch box, sometimes dry cleaning, and whatever else in his arms, he practically launches himself up the stairs to get to that kiss. They're both so sweet!
Dinner is followed by playtime with Daddy, then bath, then the bedtime process.

Our days are pretty routine, but they're full of little sweet moments. Just when I sigh and think "Duplos again?" then she makes the Duplos kiss or gets in my lap to play or some other little Hope-thing and it makes me think, again, that I'm the luckiest Mommy that ever was.
Thanks, God, for this life. Thanks, Daddy, for sharing it with me. Thanks, Hope, for being who you are. Thanks, family, for showing me what family should look like. Thanks, friends, for loving me and making me laugh.

Hope is the luckiest baby in the world!
AND it is so cool and so smart that you and Carl have already taught her to love her books....I am proud of you.
