My mom's suggestion for a new blog title is "White Bread Days." I've made mention of this adopted family phrase before, but let me fill you in on what it means and why I'm using it. It's pretty perfect, actually.
When my sister and I were little, my mom befriended an elderly widow who lived on our street. This lady, Jan, was fond of us and would invite us to take walks with her or occasionally let us come over and "play" her piano and eat Tic-Tacs. Her own children were grown and didn't come around much, and my mom got the impression that Jan was lonely. One day, perhaps a hard or tiring day of parenting for my mom, Jan encouraged her by saying "You may not know it, but you're eating your white bread now!"
In other words, these are the sweetest times of your life.
As much as I look forward to watching Hope and Grant grow up, and as hopeful as I am for their future and mine, I do realize (thanks to Jan and my mom) that these are my white bread days. As tiring as it may be, I know there's no sweeter way to spend my days than taking care of my little sunshine and my special man.

What a beautiful family. You sound like you appreciate and acknowledge just how fast it goes and you are trying to enjoy every crazy, chaotic moment. You never get this time back. I am in the same situation. Loving being a mommy and it seems like it is whirling past!
