Not jealous ... yet

I keep waiting for Hope's jealousy to kick in now that she has to share us with Grant. Just a few short weeks ago, she had the spotlight all to herself around here. We try to make sure she still gets plenty of our time and attention, but it's definitely common for her to have to wait while I nurse him or hurry up so I can get to him.


I'd think it would be frustrating for her, but she seems pretty understanding. Occasionally she'll hear him fussing and say "Uh oh, Mom. Better go get baby Grant!" She's got a healthy dose of maternal instinct, and wants to cuddle him every chance she gets. Supervision is definitely required, because her kind of cuddling is a lot like squashing. Grant's going to grow up tough :)

I'm not suggesting that she won't become jealous eventually, but I'm glad that it hasn't happened yet. In Hope's words, "It's fun having baby Grant in my house!"
