Vacation, Day 4

On the final day of our vacation, we went back to Sesame Place (after being rained out a couple of weeks ago). It was a much more pleasant experience this time! Less crowds, better weather, and more of an idea of how to 'do' the park. We even saw many more characters this time! Practically right inside the gate we ran into Oscar, and over the course of our 6 hours we met Elmo, Abby Cadaby, Cookie Monster, Zoe, Bert and Ernie.

We tackled the water rides first. Hope seemed to prefer this water slide, which didn't require a life-jacket, to the one that did. I'm kind of surprised that she was brave enough, but while she admits that it was scary, she also appears to have been in the zone.

The parade was such a hit last time that we made sure to see it again this time. We had to claim a good spot a few minutes in advance, and the anticipation was getting to Hope. Even though it was exactly the same as before, she still loved it! She eagerly pointed out each float and character that was coming up, and wiggled with delight when they were right in front of us.

Even though in the parade you see all the characters, Snuffleupagus was a major hit. Hope doesn't watch lots of Sesame Street, and even when she does see it Snuffleupagus doesn't seem to play much of a part, but she is drawn to him for some reason. And she calls him "Snuggle-Up-Kiss" which is just too sweet ...

Before the day was done, I think we rode most of the rides and saw most of the sights. Getting to meet Abby Cadaby (or Abby Dabby as Hope calls her) was a big thrill. We took pictures with Elmo too, but whoever was inside of him was a dud - he just stood there. The Abby lady was much more engaging and let Hope poke her nose and see her magic wand.

By the time we left, we were all thoroughly exhausted and ready to get home to our own beds. I felt like our vacation continued throughout the weekend, because we still had Daddy home from work, but this trip to Sesame Place was the last stop on our 'away' agenda. It made for a big day, but a good way to wrap up the trip!
