We saw a handful of your more run-of-the-mill animals, but were all more interested in the kodiak bears, peacocks, tigers, lions, wolves, lemurs, and this guy:

If you know Hope, or have spent any time with her recently, she's probaby engaged you in a game of 'lets pretend we're kangaroos.' I think the attraction started before I became pregnant, but now that I've got a baby in my belly, she loves to be a kangaroo with a baby in HER pouch. She was intrigued by this real live specimen, but seemed most interested in the fact that he peed in the grass ... oh well.
We were having a grand time oo-ing and ah-ing at the animals, when this big bad storm rolled in. It was one of those things where you know it's going to start pouring any second, so you're trying to figure out if you should run back to the building or seek shelter nearby. We opted for shelter nearby in the form of a little picnic pavilion. And we weren't a moment too soon!

Our little shelter was just a roof, so most of the bunch of us under there still got a little cold and wet. But Hope was pretty well contained between her hat, sweater, and stroller. This picture cracks me up because she looks like a little old lady, all bundled up and enjoying some raisins while we waited it out. The necklace and bracelet (that you can't see) were a little souvenir gift from Daddy the day before.

It was a long morning, perfect for capping off with a good nap.
After naptime, we walked along Main Street in a cute little nearby town. It included a coffee shop and cookie, a bit of people-watching, and easily an hour spent playing in the toy store. Good times were had by all!

I love that picture of Hope sleeping! It's just so innocent and sweet!
