Crab hands and bacon

For a couple of weeks now, Hope's appetite hasn't been as big as it used to be. She still eats a good variety of things, just less of everything. I'm not worried about it, but Daddy and I do find ourselves doing whatever we can to get her to eat more.

One thing that works is "crab hands!" I don't know how it started, but she loves it when we walk our hands across her tray like crab claws and threaten to let the crab eat her food. She'll even taunt the crab - tossing a bite out there for the crab, then shoving it into her mouth at the last minute. It's labor intensive, but it's probably doubled her food intake lately!

Another tactic is giving her things I know she'll eat, but that we don't have often. I gave her quite a lot of bacon the other night at dinner, thinking she might eat half of it. Imagine my delight when she ate almost all of it! Imagine our hysteria when she broke a lull in conversation by saying, "Bacon make Hope feel better!"

Doesn't bacon make everyone feel better?

I've always said I would eat bacon dipped in syrup all day when I get to heaven :-) Maybe Hope can join me!
