Sunday fun day

Sunday was another gorgeous day - ah! We just had to get back outside and soak it up. After naptime we went to another park, and this time it was swarmed with other families just like us. I think everyone decided to play outside before the cold came back. More kids means more fun for Hope, so it was all good. We had to wait our turn for a swing to open up, but once it did, Hope was right back in her element. Here are her newly improved airplane arms:

We hated to go inside, but needed to do an errand at the mall. A promise of the "mehwee-go-rOWnd" got Hope on board with the plan. She requested a horse with a flag on top, which I thought was bizarre.

Then we went to dinner (yes, lots of eating out lately!) where Hope cracked us up the whole time. She was such a silly little happy clam!

After all these months of wearing long sleeves and coats, seeing her soft pudge arms was undoing me. I just wanted to eat them!

Then we discovered that Hope LOVES gentle, tickly arm rubs. Daddy and I each stroked an arm until it got goosebumps, then she'd say "mo titckles?" We did it over and over, and eventually it (and the hour) lulled her into a quiet, zombie state.

When my sister and I were very little the old lady down the street told my mom, "You're eating your white bread now!" It was her way of saying that when you have small kids at home, you're enjoying the sweetest, richest days. I always thought that was weird - until now.
