Decorating the Christmas tree

I remember decorating our Christmas tree last year, when Hope was so little, and how we imagined that this year she'd be really into helping with it. We were kind of wrong!
It started out how we imagined. She wanted to investigate the lights while Daddy put them up, and she helped him by holding the end of the string and following him around the tree.

Then she took a kissing break.

Then she got bored and wanted to read a book. I thought maybe if she read her book with a Christmas tree in it, she might get more interested. It didn't work.
She was definitely more interested once the ornaments came out, and she wanted to examine each one. But she did NOT want to leave them on the tree. We spent most of the time putting the same three or four ornaments on the tree over and over again.
Now that two ornaments have been broken, our tree is sort of arranged with the glass ornaments on top and the soft ornaments on the bottom. Maybe not the prettiest design, but far more Hope-friendly!

Funny, when you look back on these moments, you never remember the frustration - only the sweet stuff.

Precious memories...I read that "God gave us memories so we can have roses in December." I think he gave us memories so we can always have our loved ones with us ( and our LITTLE babies! )
Loving you XX
