Budding imagination

It wasn't all that long ago that Hope couldn't really communicate with us. So it blows my mind that now, not only can she tell me what she's wanting/thinking a lot of the time, but she can also communicate things that she's pretending. I guess our imaginations are built in, but it's pretty awesome to watch Hope's develop. Make believe is still new enough to her that it's also funny to her - as in, "I'm pretending to wash my face ... how silly of me!"

Some of her make believe games are:

- Stirring soup with a bowl and spoon, then saying "hot!" and blowing before she takes a bite.

- Saying "bye byes!" and then walking away for a few seconds. I usually say "Bye! Have fun at school/work/the store." Then she runs back with a big grin to start over again.

- Folding the bath pillow over her head and mine, like a tunnel, and giving kisses! We call it the kissing hat, and I like it :)

- Crawling around saying "woof woof," being a doggie.
- Riding on shoulders, squealing, and saying "neigh neigh!"

- Feeding and diapering her baby. In fact, one day she opened her baby's diaper, ran a lip gloss around on it (as though it were diaper rash cream) and said "Ah!"
