Angel, or not so much?

When we picked Hope up from the church nursery the other day, her teacher said that she had been his "angel." Mommy that I am, I swelled with pride and swooned that my daughter will surely follow in my footsteps and be the teacher's pet. I praised her for being an angel, a word she repeated the whole way home. I just told a friend I wouldn't post how Hope's version of "angel" sounds more like "A-hole," but there you go!

I also just told Grandma that I probably wouldn't post about Hope's first official time out, but she pointed out that it's a milestone like any other and worth remembering. So, the secret's out ... she's not ~always~ an angel.

The infamous occasion was about a week ago. Hope flatly refused to cooperate with getting dressed, which is of course not negotiable. She was crying, fighting, and flailing in a way I've never seen from her before. I hated to do it, but I knew she needed to see consequences for that kind of behavior. So into the crib she went, for just a minute or two. Who knows if she understood my explanation of what was happening, but she was eager to get back out and had calmed down by then. And fortunately, we've not had a repeat (yet).

I've been bracing myself for the terrible two's and three's. Because can't you just tell that this girl is full of sugar AND spice?

Your description is dead on - she IS sugar and spice! Of course, that "incident" you described is just a one time lapse in her other wise angelic demeanor.......
And you really WERE teachers' pet.Nobody who knows you would be surprised about that.
Love my girls!
