Grant's 8th Birthday

Grant had his 8th birthday party at an indoor sports arena. Rather than soccer or dodgeball, he chose the Nerf battle option, which is right up his alley. He invited a bunch of friends, and they had a ball running around the field playing capture the flag and the other Nerf games the arena hosts had set up. It was possibly the easiest party we've ever done, because all that was required of me was a cake and some pizza! The boys plowed through the food so quickly that they even had time to watch Grant open his gifts before the party ended.

It was fast and furious, but they all had a good time. And I could tell that Grant loved all the attention! Even though he can be a ham, he's pretty much a rule-follower at school and doesn't seem to attract a lot of attention there. He seems to be well-liked, but he's not usually the center of attention or the kid that all the other kids look to for social cues. So he relished the day! And his gift from Mom and Dad was the Y-Flicker scooter that he wanted, and has since put many miles on!
