Cub Scout Camp

Grant is so lucky to have Daddy as his Cub Scout Den Leader! All during the school year, they attended meeting and activities together, worked on the Oath, and earned some badges. I'm sure if Daddy weren't part of the program, Grant would have lost interest. But I'm so glad he hasn't, because I think he'll like it more and more as time goes on. And one of the things we hear over and over is how much the boys love Scout Camp! Daddy took the whole week off work so he could attend as a Leader, which was a big sacrifice. But they had a fantastic week, and I'm sure Grant is storing up these memories of all this commitment from his Dad and will realize more as he gets older how special this time together is for them.

Not surprisingly, some of Grant's favorite parts of Scout Camp were target shooting, whittling, mining/geology, and something they call Knocker Ball. It sounds like the camp organizers really know what kinds of things appeal to boys, and they had them in abundant supply!

Most days, both my boys came home filthy, sweaty, and starving - evidence of days spent playing hard and having fun. I know Grant is already looking forward to going to Scout Camp again next summer!
