Made by Daddy

There are so many good dads out there, who love their kids well and provide for their needs. I'm sure those dads go out of their way to spend time with their children and let them know how special they are. But I just can't imagine there are any other dads out there who quite compare to Hope's and Grant's.

Despite how tired he is after a full day of work outside the house, when he comes home he's ALL IN. And on the weekends, all he cares about is soaking up family time. He will go way out of his way to chase down an idea or adventure.
Case in point: homemade rubber band guns. Grant had a dream one night that he and Daddy made rubber band guns out of PVC pipe, and he told us about it with lots of detail and animation. Grant was floored when Daddy suggested they go to Home Depot and get what they needed to make them for real.

Then last weekend Daddy noticed Hope enjoyed some tantagram puzzles at a children's museum. After dinner we were talking about them, and the next thing we know Daddy is cutting up a cardboard box to make one.

Hope and Grant will realize in a hundred ways over their lifetimes that Daddy loves them, but I know it will bless their hearts that he loves them with his time and creativity. It reminds me of the play kitchen my dad pain-stakingly made for me, and refinished for my kids!
