Second grade

Today was Hope's first day of the second grade, and she loved it! It wasn't until the open house last week that she began to get excited, but once she met her teacher and saw her classroom and reconnected with friends, she could hardly wait. I'm SO happy for her, that she gets to go to a wonderful school and that - God willing - she'll be part of this great community of kids throughout her school years.


I expected Hope to pick out a dress or a special outfit for the first day, but she went with something sporty, "in case they have P.E. on the first day." They did, in fact. I'm hoping her backpack will last for many years, but she was excited to have a new lunch box and new school supplies, of course. She said her favorite part of the day was sorting the school supplies. That sounds like something I would say :)


Hope has a small-ish class this year - only 16 students. I think that's great! And there's a good mix of kids she knows and kids she doesn't. I'm so excited for her! She has so many fantastic opportunities through this school! She brought home a paper today where she'd written, "I think second grade will be osum!"
