Summer is for FUN!

We have had SO MUCH fun this summer! It's been a good combination of time with family and friends, time together, out having adventures, and playing at home (we've spent untold hours playing on the swing set - I toss a ball and Hope and Grant kick it while they're swinging). I couldn't begin to capture everything we've gotten into, but this handful of pictures gives a pretty good idea!

Crafts, science, and projects at home.

Adorableness at the county fair. They held hands like this every time they waited in line for a ride.


An obstacle course and mud run. They were all psyched before hand, and filthy afterward. Grant did not enjoy the mud pit one. little. bit.




Local field trips to petting zoos, farms, parks, etc.




Special dates with Grandpa! He took Grant on a "buddy date" to the electronics museum, which Grant is still talking about. And he and Hope went horseback riding (after he bought her a new pair of cowgirl boots). World's best Grandpa!


A weekend visit from Aunt Laura and Uncle Jon. Despite being the hottest day we've had all year, we went to DC and did all the tourist stuff. They were fantastic with the kids, who absolutely and completely ADORED them!


We went to the local Irish festival, where Hope was thrilled to watch a performance by the Gothard Sisters, whom she likes. She even got to meet them and get an autographed CD and t-shirt!
