I love that Hope is so interested in science and nature. Beyond clean, girly subjects like flowers and weather, she also likes to learn about bugs and 'dung' and decomposition. Case in point, we've been watching a strawberry rot for a month now. She noticed it had a bad spot on it when she went to eat it, and instead of tossing it out, she decided to make it an experiment. So now we have a VERY shriveled up and nasty looking strawberry carcass in a dish on the windowsill.
Recently Hope and Daddy went to the craft store to pick out her prize for knowing all her letter sounds flashcards. They came home with this DIY volcano!
She had a blast making it, and said she'd always wanted to do paper mache. After it dried and she painted it, Daddy took her back outside to watch it erupt. Grant was her lovely assistant :)
I love the looks on these faces. So curious, wondering what would happen, then so delighted by the result. Hooray for science!
