Recycling center

A couple of weeks ago, Grant and I joined a couple of friends on a tour of the recycling center. We all learned a lot! Grant wasn't so interested in the very brief presentation, was more interested in the hands-on experiments with magnets, and was entirely interested in the big machinery they use to do all the sorting.

They had a catwalk over the sorting center, so you could walk across and see how all the different machines and workers separate all the recyclables. Grant's favorite machines were the glass shaker and the paper vacuum.

But being the social butterfly that he is, he wasn't content to leave until he got the attention of all the workers down below and waved 'hi' to them. Seeing the loud and smelly conditions they work in everyday, I have a new appreciation for those workers. And I have Grant to thank for it; I love how he delights in people!
