Nearby, there's this cute little historic Main Street with shops and restaurants. They advertised this tree lighting, carol singing, twinkling Christmas parade. We thought we'd skip the tree lighting and the music, counting on the kids not wanting to be out in the cold for super long, and just hit the parade. But it turns out some electrical glitch delayed all the action. So we saw the tree lighting, then ducked in a restaurant along the parade route, and only caught a few glimpses of the parade as it went by.
But the evening was far from lousy; we had a really good time! Even though the festivities were messed up, it still felt festive just being out among the people and the decorations. We had a sweet, silly time just being there together.
Grandma and Grandpa were good sports ;)
Grant enjoyed all the people-watching, and playing our heads like bongos! He also learned the fine art of spitball shooting over dinner (thanks, Daddy).
And Hope enjoyed meeting all kinds of dogs outside and cuddling up for dinner with her fan club.
It wasn't what we expected, but I think we all had a good time!
