When Hope was small, she slept until 8am without fail. It was glorious! Nowadays she's up at 7am, which is also pretty good. And every now and then Grant gets up at 6:30am, which is acceptable. But more often than I'd like, he's up somewhere between 5:30&6am. That's just EARLY!
We converted the crib to a toddler bed a few weeks ago, so now he's able to get out by himself. Lately he comes out of his room, walks around for a minute, might go to the potty, then comes into my bed. He'll pet me and say adorable things like "Mommy so tie-ward!" or "Mommy want to cuddle you?" After a few minutes of cuteness he moves onto prying my eyes open and saying "Me want hot milk now! Mommy make coffee?"
Hot drinks in hand, we head downstairs so we won't wake Hope up. He might play golf clubs or Hot Wheels for a little while, but we usually end up on the couch, him on my lap, watching Go Diego Go.
Once she's up, Hope stumbles downstairs to join us. She's usually squinty and bleary-eyed, and kind of feels her way over to the couch to join us. She snuggles in as Grant greets her "Hopey wake up now!"
I'm grateful for full nights of sleep, and looking forward to the day when Grant sleeps later, but for now, if we have to start the day so early, at least it's sweet!
