It was one of those mornings when Grant was into everything - making messes, transplanting objects from room to room, spilling, touching things he shouldn't, etc. There were Dixie cups strewn all over the hallway, plastic containers flung far and wide across my kitchen, and I even found a bag of shredded coconut in the bathroom drawer. I decided it was time to put the kids to task with something that would hold their interest.
My mistake was getting Hope involved in something first. Because while she was happily doing this:
A good bit of scrubbing cleaned his face up pretty well, but his hands stayed kind of grey for the rest of the morning.

Poison Control assures me that Crayola markers are completely non-toxic and that I needn't be concerned that he basically ATE one. I was relieved, but not nearly as relieved as Hope. When she gathered from my end of the conversation that Grant would be fine, she cheered "Oh good! My little brother is going to live!"

Oh my gosh!! So scary and so cute at the same time. Was this your first poison control call? It's always a little nerve-wracking to be dialing that number even if you're pretty sure your kid is fine. Love your little munchkins!
Ahhh, I remember my first call to poison control... so long ago... and so many calls since then.
I'm glad he's ok! FYI, Crayola crayons are non-toxic too.
What a great story! Yeah, we've called them a few times too, no worries!
