It was inevitable

It shouldn't have surprised me; I think every preschooler does it at some point.  Nevertheless, I was actually shocked yesterday when I discovered that Hope had written her name in red marker across the seat of one of our wooden chairs.  She never does that kind of thing!

I was tempted to snap a picture, but thought that might get in the way of my explaining to her why that was a naughty thing to do.  She already knows the rule: "We only draw on paper."  So the emphasis was on not doing the things that you know are wrong.  If only we could all learn that lesson :)

A little scrubbing with a Magic Eraser got the mark right off, and we've moved on.  But sheesh.  Between this and Grant's episode from the other day, we might have to swear off markers for awhile!
