I know she's still a little girl, and she still has adorable little girl cheeks and squishy cute arms. But something has changed that I can't put my finger on, something that makes her look more mature. Has she grown taller? Is it the longer hair? Is it the nonstop facial expressions or the vocabulary that won't quit?
There is probably nobody else in the world that will find this momentous, but to me it's a new and kind of big deal that Hope gets herself out of bed in the mornings. From the day she was born and up until maybe two months ago, Hope would play in her bed in the morning and wait for me to come get her. Even in the big girl bed that she's had for a year and a half, she'd either talk/sing until I came in, or she'd call out "Mommy, can I get out of my bed now?" We never told her she couldn't leave her bed in the morning (though that was always the rule at tuck-in time). But something clicked in her a couple of months ago, and now she comes out of her room and comes to find me in the morning. I know, I know, not newsworthy to most people. But ever since I became a mother, it was ME going in to HER in the morning. This little step of independence just seems kind of ... new? strange?

It's only the beginning...so much more independence will follow and you keep asking yourself how they keep growing up so fast.
But yes! I agree...she looks so much more grown up!
It's not strange at all! Sarah just started getting up on her own too. They are spreading their wings a little bit more each day. *sigh*
