Recent fun

Our weather has been back and forth lately, so we've had our share of playing outside and finding new ways to have fun in the house. Hope is in a period of complete darling-ness, so she's made both sorts of days funny and pleasant. Yay!

Yesterday she commandeered this beach chair at our friends' Memorial Day barbecue. When she discovered that the umbrella detaches, then it became a game of pretending she was in the rain.
A couple of days ago, on a rainy day, we gave each other "hair dudes." I'm still shocked that this one stayed in for as long as it did! Cute, right?

Later that day, after spilling an entire container of nonpariels on the kitchen floor, we baked cookies. They weren't homemade, but all Hope really cared about was putting "spinkles" on them anyway.

On a nice day, Hope went to Grandma and Grandpa's house where they all built this "tent." They tell me she read books, had a snack, and enjoyed getting sleepy in the breeze. Ahhh.

Another yucky day out, another game of pretend. Here, she's pretending to be Frances from 'Bread and Jam for Frances' - one of my favorite childhood books. She pretended to jump rope while "waiting for school bus come and GET me!" Then she dubbed this blue bunny 'Albert' and here she's sharing her lunch with him. She's staying true to the story line, in case you've never read the book :)

Presto, another gorgeous day out and a trip to the farm animal park. She and Maddie were so disappointed that the cow wouldn't come any closer, but they looked super cute standing on the gate like little farmer girls.

Who knows what we'll get into this week!

When I enlarged the photo of Hope with "Albert" I was stunned by her beautiful face.
I love her ability to imagine and pretend at her tender age.
So happy that she is a fan of Bread and Jam For Francis.
