As she speeds toward her 10th birthday, I see her more and more entering the "tween" stage. She likes to be silly, but she cares how she looks. She will play with stuffed animals and pretend, but she also likes to text with her friends. She's still exceptionally open with me about how she's feeling, and what she's thinking or worrying about, but I know at some point she's likely to pull away. So far she hasn't, and I'm so thankful, but I guess I should be prepared that that's what most girls do.

She is such a beauty, inside and out. I couldn't be happier with the person Hope is turning out to be! And I hope that throughout the "tween" stage she'll stay confident, happy, and grounded.
