First fruits

At church, the kids get "God-time cards," which are basically daily discussion points to go over with your family, and a key verse. We don't always do them, but when we do the discussion is always fruitful. A couple of nights ago Daddy was leading the kids through it after dinner, and they were discussing the importance of giving God set aside time in your day. The next morning, Grant crawled into bed next to me while I was reading my Bible, so I read to him the passage I was already in - about offering the best of what we have to God; giving him our "first fruits."

We went about our morning as usual, but then right before time to leave for the bus stop Grant started writing in a notebook. I thought he was probably drawing a picture (which is usually a bundle of TNT, a chemical reaction, a machine, or an animal). But he showed me this:

And he told me he was starting his day by giving God his first fruits. My heart nearly burst! I can only imagine the big smile on God's face!
