Truck for Charley

For some reason, Grant got it in his mind that he wanted to give one of his toy trucks to his classmate, Charley. He didn't say anything to imply that it had anything to do with Charley being a kid with some special needs, but I wonder if deep down his heart knew that a kid like Charley might need someone to reach out to him.

Anyway, he talked about it for a couple of days - not wanting to forget. Then when he walked into preschool today, he had the truck tucked under his arm. Charley and his mom happened to be right inside the door when we got there, feeding Charley with his feeding tube. Grant asked what they were doing  then explained that he wanted Charley to have this truck. His mom was so touched! She was confused about why he thought to do it I think, but she was tickled that Charley got the attention. She told me afterward that all through school Charley kept thanking Grant and feeling happy.

I love Grant's heart! I love how compassionate he is, without even knowing it. He is going to be an amazing man!
