Having his party at the bowling alley made it super easy for me - and the kids all had a blast. I think this is the first year that Grant really had a few friends of his own, and he enjoyed having them all there together. It was a sweet bunch of kids!
Grant requested hamburgers for his birthday dinner, and a cheesecake with cherries on top. We all enjoyed it - both sets of grandparents, Aunt Kate and Uncle Ethan too. And the following day at preschool Grant took in Jello dinosaurs for his birthday "party" during snack time.
He was loaded up with gifts of Nerf guns, marble runs, and Hot Wheels - all his favorite things. Daddy spent hours assembling this cool set from Grandmom and Grandad. When Grant woke up and saw it assembled he said "Dad did a great job alright!" And just now when I asked him what he likes best about being 5 he shrugged his shoulders and said "it's just awesome!"
