Free Lemonade!

Hope has been toying with the idea of a lemonade stand for a few weeks. Now that we're in the new house, it seemed like a lemonade stand would be a good way to meet some neighbors. Who wouldn't want to stop for some lemonade from this cutie?

Turns out we didn't have much traffic. The neighbors who did come by were very friendly though. And of course when Grandma and Grandpa got word of a lemonade stand, they decided they were thirsty enough to stop by :)

For Hope, the highlight of the whole experience was getting help from Meagan, the 10-year-old who lives next door. She and her family have been incredibly welcoming, and Meagan has become a good buddy for Hope. After the lemonade stand shut down, they came in and played in Hope's room, watched a movie, and did crafts ALL afternoon. All told, it has been a very fun day for Miss Hopey!

I am so impressed by the things you and Carl do for and with the children. You make parenting a real priority and you do it thoughtfully, not just letting life happen to them as it will. I love that both of you are patient, gentle and attentive to teaching H & G and making them into good citizens and compassionate people. This little stand was a small thing but you took the time to do it during a VERY busy time for you. I am so grateful that you both use these short, short years so wisely.
