Hope has always referred to one-on-one time out in the world as a 'date.' And between me, Daddy, Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt K, she's has dates pretty frequently. Now that Grant is old enough to get in on the fun, he had his very first non-Mommy or Daddy date the other day with Grandma!
It sounds like Grandma did not disappoint! They started at a playground, but ultimately decided it was too wet to enjoy. So they got Grant's bike out of the car and rode around some. Then they went to Home Depot, where Grandma earned her cool points by letting Grant "drive" the riding mowers (Grant calls them tractors, or "trakkers.") Apparently this went on for a long, long time! From there they went to lunch at Chik-fil-A, where he enjoyed the play place. Last but not least, they stopped in Target and bought some new dinosaur toys. How's that for a fun-filled morning for a 2-year-old?!
Grandma reports that Grant was happy, pleasant, and kept his pants dry the whole time. That's a glowing report in toddler world :)

He was great company.
It was my pleasure and, I am sure, the first of many dates.
