Funnies

Hope likes to wake up slowly and take her sweet time having breakfast, getting dressed, and starting the day. That means that I'm frequently rushing her on school mornings, church mornings, or almost anytime we have to get out the door on a schedule. And apparently I do the 'mom' thing where I'll use her full name to indicate that I mean business. As in, "Hope Kathryn LastName you need to get your shoes on!" Well, a couple of times lately when Grant has wanted my attention and felt a sense of urgency about it, he'll call out "Mama Kathryn LastName!" He clearly doesn't understand that the 'Kathryn' part is specific to Hope, but he obviously understands the priority of the full name call!

This funny of Hope's is several weeks old now, from the early days of Grant using the potty. While dropping her off at her preschool, Grant told me he needed to pee. I took him into the little (adorably kid-sized) bathroom within her classroom. When we came back out, I overheard one of the teacher's aides ask Hope if she was helping Grant learn how to use the potty. She responded, in all seriousness, "Yes I am, but Daddy is teaching him how to shake it." Classic!

I laughed so many times at that post, but I think the "shake it" part is just a riot!
