Playhouse

I waited and waited and waited and finally found this particular playhouse for sale on Craigslist for a reasonable price. Hope has been enamored with playhouses for awhile, but saw this one somewhere and fell in love with the split/Dutch door. They aren't cheap even used, so I thought if we were going to spring for a playhouse, it should be the one she really wanted.

Daddy was on his trip when we got it, so I had to get it home with the help of a friend. After the kids went to bed that night, I gave it a thorough scrubbing so that we could use it as an inside toy. And, man, am I glad because it's been close to 100 degrees and wicked humid for weeks.

You see, it's not just a playhouse. It's also a grocery store, a restaurant, a beauty salon, a jail, a school, a library, and a hospital.

Grant likes to pull up on the window ledges and peek inside. He also loves 'driving' around in our Cozy Coupe police car, so sometimes Hope uses the phone inside to call the police, who dispatch Officer Grant to the rescue.

Yes, this toy takes up a massive amount of space in our playroom. But it's also occupied a massive amount of time since we bought it, and I expect it will do so for many months/years to come. Hooray for Craigslist!

Someday the children are going to read these blogs and they will get yet another testimony to your love for them...and your delight in them. You go above and beyond and ALWAYS guide them with gentle patience. How will they ever read these without tears??
