I'm in the final days of this pregnancy, and it's not glamorous. I'm tired, big, and uncomfortable. Fortunately I'm also only 30 minutes from Grandma, who is incredibly generous with her time, giving of her talents, and good at nurturing!
Yesterday Grandma came over to help me entertain Hope. Somehow in the midst of all the playing and toddler games she also managed to make our lunch, unload and load the dishwasher, fold laundry, and put clean sheets on Hope's bed.

And today Grandma came over and spoiled us some more! She brought a bunch of groceries with her, made three dinners for me to keep in the fridge for this week (bliss!), made lunch, did the dishes again, brought a fun collage craft for me and Hope to do while she cooked, insisted that I take a nap, and hooked Hope up with a 'sounds of nature' CD to try and elicit a long nap from her (which means more rest for me).
I woke up thinking how unusually thoughtful my mom is, and how she is ~actually~ helpful and not just one of those people who offers help but is really just in the way. Then I walked out of my bedroom to discover that before she left she even set the table for us for dinner. Yeah, she rocks!
Thanks, Mom! I don't know how I'd survive this week without your help (though I suspect it would be with far fewer good meals, far more exhaustion, and a very messy house)!

Thanks for your very excessive praise.........but NOT for those awful photos! Yeeuck!
There is no place I'd rather be this week than hangin' with you and Miss Hope.
The pictures are cute, Grandma! Hope will treasure them when she's older, just like you would treasure photos of you in the kitchen with your grandmother.
Awwwww! Carol rocks! What a blessing.
Wow, how blessed you are to have such a wonderful mother and grandmother! Holly, you are in our prayers as you wait for the arrival of baby Grant. We are excited for your family! And can't wait to see pictures on the blog!
Your mom is awesome! That truly is the kind of help that HELPS.
