I'm here to tell you, today was not one of those days.
It started off great, with some happy girls playing dress up and dance party. They were sharing nicely, minding their manners, and being sweet.

Then something happened. Around here we call it "hungry grouch." Hope was suddenly NOT in the mood to share, NOT in the mood to take no for an answer, NOT in the mood to apologize for throwing toys, and NOT in the mood to stay in time out.

At one point I said, "This is NOT funny." She replied, "It IS funny. [sarcastic] Ha, ha, ha!" Enter my aneurysm.
Our poor friends eventually left without an apology, hug, or goodbye from Hope. Once we were alone, I tried a different approach - eye contact, but no talking. It drove her crazy! Eventually she just kept saying, "Mommy? I love you, Mommy." She soooo knows how I operate.
I knew this had to be hungry grouch, but was hoping to hear some repentance before we left the scene of the crime for lunch. It didn't happen. But lunch definitely curbed the attitude, and thankfully, she took a good nap and was sweet all evening.
And wouldn't you know, when I told Daddy about her sarcastic little "ha ha ha," THAT is when she finally said she was sorry. Sheesh. Only about 4 hours after the fact.

I guess a girl is entitled to a bad day now and then. But she really IS sweet as pie 95% of the time!
