When Mommy came to get me in the morning, I told her I wanted her to get in bed with me and read my Jesus book. We were all cuddled up, reading the story, when we got to the page where Jesus got baptized. I didn't really understand that, as much as Mommy tried to explain it. But she did point out the dove that God sent down to show Jesus he was happy.
"Where's God?" I asked. Mommy said he lives in Heaven, somewhere in the clouds, but that Jesus can live in our hearts if we ask him to. I said, "O-tay!" Mommy seemed like she didn't expect that reaction, but she seemed really happy too. I repeated after Mommy and said, "Dear Jesus, please live in my heart. Amen!"
Mommy said there's more to it, and that she hopes I'll understand when I'm a little older, but that she was really proud of me! Daddy said only God knows our hearts, but that he's sure God was smiling yesterday :)

I actually said that Hope's understanding of God is not so far off of our own when considered in comparison to the eternal nature, bigness, and unfathomableness of our creator, king, savior, brother, and friend. I'm confident in Phil 1:6 for her and for me - Amen.
A precious day... I know God was smiling for Hope - and for her Mommy's loving instruction, too.

SUPER cute!! I definitely took a pic of Christopher praying "the prayer" in the VBS trailer at the state fair. I could barely focus through my tears and wondered what God was thinking :)
