Pallow!

Six or so weeks ago, Mommy got a bedroom makeover that included several new pillows and throw pillows. Hope loved flopping on them, laying on them, and stroking them. Finally, it occurred to me that she might be ready for a pillow of her own.

I gave her a little decorative pillow from her rocking chair, and she was so excited to sleep with it! She'd say "Pallow? Ni-night? Bed?" And most days I'm all for whatever makes her excited to go to sleep.

After several uninterrupted nights of sleep, and continued love for the "pallow," we bought a real (small) pillow for her. Grandma made a white, satiny pillow case for it so it's nice and comfy. Hope LOVES it!

This makes me think of all the things you're not supposed to put in the crib with babies when they're newborns. No blankets, no toys, no stuffed animals. Certainly no pillows! As if I didn't know it already, this is just one more sign that my baby isn't really a baby anymore.

But, surprisingly, I'm ok with that. She's so much more fun now than when she was a tiny lump. And it's entirely rewarding to hear "Love oo Mommy" and get big, tight hugs with kisses!

So super sweet! I love my "pellow" too :) I still say it like that, much to my husband's amusement.

She's a sweet little sleeper. :)
