Circus

I started a part-time job about two months ago, publishing a website and newsletter called Macaroni Kid, which is full of local events/activities/ideas for families. In addition to the freelance writing I've been doing here and there for a magazine, it's the perfect way to blend my limited free time and ambition with my talents and interests. I've been loving it, and my family has been extremely supportive!

One of the best parts about the job is all the fun freebies we get, like great seats at the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus! Hope went to the circus a couple of years ago, but this was Grant's first time.

We were all totally wow-ed! The show didn't start until 7:30pm, so I was a little nervous about having the kids out so late on a school night. But they were mesmerized for the entire three hours!

The tickets they gave us were for such good seats - we were practically right there on the floor with the performers. It definitely made a difference!

Hope said her favorite part was the clowns, which surprised me. Grant's favorite was the motorcycles in a cage, which didn't surprise me at all.

We all really enjoyed getting to go to the "press party" before the show. Of course the circus wants to show those of us who are writing reviews a good time, but they really went above and beyond to ply us with goodies.

Grant couldn't believe the unlimited buffet of circus food - more sweets and junk than he'd probably ever seen before. For Grant - a dream come true!

Hope seemed more impressed by just being included in the party, and being handed - for free - some of the souvenirs and things they sell in the arena for an arm and a leg.

The circus really is an incredible show. There is so much spectacle and talent and death-defying you really are on the edge of your seat the whole time. I was delighted to get to show it to Hope and Grant!
