Summer days

When school first let out and we were staring down the whole summer, it was easy to feel intimidated. Hope and Grant love each other, but they get on each others' nerves and fight more than I'd like. I was worried that I'd be playing referee and losing my mind all summer. And while we've certainly had moments like that, I'm thrilled that the summer has been overwhelmingly fun and sweet.

We had tons of little trips and adventures, as well as more ordinary outings and play dates. We got lots of time with old and new friends, learned some new things, and soaked up the freedom. Add to that the six Fridays in a row that Daddy was off work (thanks to the furlough), and we got the feeling that every weekend was a holiday!

I couldn't possibly detail everything we did all summer long, but between the amusement parks, hikes, pool days, and lake days, the county fair, tending our vegetable garden, ice cream outings, bike rides, date nights, and friend time ... it was a summer to remember!
