Daddy's graduation

After 18 months of hard work, Daddy just graduated from Georgetown and earned his Master's in Public Policy Management. We are SO proud! Grandmom and Grandad, who were just here for Hope's birthday, came back just to celebrate Daddy's accomplishment with us. Of course they enjoyed the extra time with the kiddos as well!

We weren't originally planning to bring Hope and Grant to the graduation ceremonies and receptions, but that's what happened. And even though the days were long and hot and probably boring for them, they were rock stars! The hotel, the taxis, and the meals out were fun for them :)

There were definitely some moments of waiting around, which isn't easy for little people. During one period of waiting, they killed the time by putting on shows for me. They sang and danced, clapped for each other, and amused themselves while Daddy did some errands. Then during the actual graduation, they played games, drew a little, and fidgeted but were exceptional about not whining or complaining even though the room was crowded and hot and they didn't understand what the speakers were talking about. I was so proud of them (even though we did have to squeeze through the crowd to make two potty breaks during the hour-long ceremony)!

For about a week prior to graduation, Hope has known the big secret about Daddy's gift - I contacted Roger Staubach and explained that Daddy greatly admires him, and he graciously autographed and personalized a football, and sent it in the mail. Hope has always been surprisingly good about keeping secrets, and she did once again. We were both so excited to finally give Daddy his gift, and he loved it!
