We declared the first day at home to be pajama day, and we kept 'em on all day! Who wants to sit around in crunchy real clothes anyway? Pajamas were much more conducive to movie watching.
Even though the circumstances weren't the best, we loved having Daddy home from work for a couple extra days. Hope took this picture of us having a little dance in the living room in our pajamas. Sweet times :)
We further capitalized on the cozy feel by doing several rounds of baking. Hope loved to cook when she was Grant's age, and now he loves it too. And yes, he's wearing her pink apron, which contradicts my previous post. But in this case, I made him wear it while he played in the water in an effort to keep his clothes dry!
We certainly did a LOT of crafts and drawing and writing too. Painting, origami, you name it. At one point, Hope was worrying that the storm might ruin Halloween, so she sat down and very deliberately wrote "I hope that at Halloween it doesn't rain!" with a picture of a rained-on jack-o-lantern who'd been crossed out, and a not-rained-on jack-o-lantern who had a check mark by him. Loooove my Hope :)
By the end of our second house-bound day, we were feeling pretty stir crazy. Fortunately the rain and wind had subsided by then. So the next day, Halloween, we were back to business as usual.
