Grant's first haircut

Grant's soft little hair has been looking a bit silly lately. It was growing over his ears, forming a little curly poof in the back, and was just starting to be messy looking. We've got a photo appointment coming up for the kids, so I thought we should go ahead and get that first haircut taken care of. Graciously, Hope volunteered to get hers cut too "so Grant will know what to do."

He was nervous when we first got to the hair salon. It is totally decked out with toys, kid movies, car/airplane seats, etc. - I really think his little separation anxiety sounded an alarm that said, "This is a kid place! Mom is going to try to drop me off here!" Someday we'll move past that, right?

Once he got the picture that I wasn't going anywhere, he calmed down. And he liked the cool airplane chair he got to sit in. He was pretty leary of the lady touching his head, but was mesmerized by the lovely manager, who came over to blow bubbles for him.

The scissors cleaned up the top, and she buzzed the sides and his hairline in the back. He seemed confused about the clippers, but he didn't fight it.

There isn't a dramatic difference, but he somehow looks even more boyish. And now I have a pretty little curl to add to his baby book!
