Dink

Grant adds skills to his repertoire almost daily. And as you'd expect, much of what he's working on lately has to do with getting into things or exploring how stuff works. In recent weeks he's become fascinated and very, VERY capable with:
- opening/closing the DVD player
- pushing buttons on the phone
- pushing buttons on the computer
- pushing buttons on anything that has buttons
- opening cabinets and drawers

Some of his new favorite skills are more social. He plays a game we call "Dink" where he holds up one little pointer finger, waits for you to poke it with your pointer finger (and say "dink!"), then he erupts into giggles and grins. I like dink! He's also a new fan of:
- peekaboo
- waving bye-bye
- patting his chest
- getting high fives

Unfortunately, he is drawn to all the things we really ~don't~ want him playing with: the toilets, the trash can, electrical outlets, and the stairs. We have gates, barriers, and blockers of all kinds! Good thing he's so cute when he's getting into trouble.

Cute is the word! Oh, how much that boy will get away with by flashing that handsome smile and those eyes.
It is amazing how, at less than a year old, he knows where to find all the contraband items in the house, open the cupboards, etc.
