Ballerina princess

Over the summer, Hope took Princess Ballerina dance class. Suffice it to say, the cuteness was off the charts. Parents were only allowed to peek in at the class through the windows in the doors, so I don't know much about what they did, but what I did get to see of it was mighty fun.

For one thing, Hope was the littlest ballerina. Her little leotard makes me smile, and if you know Hope, you know she wore a different outfit to each of the six classes.

Each girl got a crown with her name on it, and the music was all Disney stuff (much of which Hope didn't know, but it didn't phase her). The teacher appeared to show them ballet moves, and the girls would try their best to imitate her. Sometimes there'd be a skipping or leaping move that she'd have them do, one at a time, across the length of the room. The problem with that was how often the girls would stop in the middle to watch themselves twirl in front of the huge mirror :)

The actual ballet was definitely not Hope's favorite part of the experience, though she did enjoy it. I think her favorite part was getting to wear her dress up clothes out in the real world. And she loved playing with the lockers in the hallway. She got a small thrill out of the sticker she got at the end of each class (nevermind that we have thousands of stickers at home that she doesn't care about - one miniature sticker from elsewhere is somehow cooler). She also really liked that a few times we stopped on the way home and got her a donut.

At any rate, she had a good time and it was super adorable to watch. And she did learn at least one thing. Here she is modeling her croisse:

So so cute! The little girls with their Disney garbs and their little "ballerina bellies" and their baby faces are beautiful! And Hope, as always, is the fairest of them all....
