Splish splash

It was about a month ago that Grant mastered the art of rolling both ways. He has since developed a very effective roll-wriggle-twist method of moving around a room, getting to whatever toys catch his eye. He's ~trying~ to get up on all fours. He's trying really hard. But for now he can get up on his arms and toes, plank style. Sometimes he struggles so hard to get his butt up that he rests his little head on the floor while working on it. Pretty cute :) I hope he's always such a hard worker!

But the achievement that's gotten Grant the most satisfaction lately is sitting up all by himself. He's officially an "unassisted sitter." For months he'd lay on his back and raise his head and feet, doing baby crunches, trying in vain to sit up. Now that he can sit, he just seems worlds happier and more comfortable.

Especially in the bathtub. Grant l-o-v-e-s getting a bath. As soon as you touch the shower curtain to pull it back, he flaps his arms and giggles and squeals! I had gotten pretty good at holding him up with one arm while washing him with the other, all the while crouched on a tiny stool in front of the tub. But his slipperyness combined with my level of discomfort meant shorter baths than he wanted. But now, glory be, my bathing beauty can sit up all by himself and splash to his heart's content!

Love that boy! His little face must get tired from all the joyful smiling!
