Just like it did with Hope, it took Grant longer than I thought it would to develop a real interest in reading and writing. But this time around I knew enough not to stress or worry about it - I was just waiting for it to "click" with him. And as I've documented in some recent posts, he has really taken off lately!
His phonetic spelling is precious, and impressive. And he's a great reader! Like his dad, if you show him something once, he's got it. So he doesn't stumble over words and painfully sound them out like I expected him to - he's mastering the letter sounds and blends and turning into a fantastic reader!
