Everyone looked pretty for church, which we attended Saturday night instead of Sunday morning. It was a great service, and Hope was thrilled that she and her cousins could go to class together, even though they're in 3rd and 4th grade.
We had a big fun time dying Easter eggs, and of course hunting for them. Grandma and Aunt Cathy filled plastic eggs with candy, coins, and treats which are still rockin' Hope's and Grant's worlds.
Hope, Grant, Josie, and Hannah played for hours on end. One of my favorite parts of the whole weekend was the 'cascarones' that Aunt Cathy brought. They are confetti filled egg shells, which we used for playing duck-duck-goose. As a child, and to this day, I really appreciate how my parents, Uncle Bill, and Aunt Cathy are so playful and willing to be silly with the kids. It made my childhood so full of sweet memories, and as an adult it is incredible for me to see my own children playing with them the same way. We are a small, but very blessed little family!
We celebrated Grandma's birthday with a picnic at the park, which was blustery but fun. The kids had a blast flying the kite, riding the scooter, and playing on the playground. I enjoyed just being outside, together with my people. All in all it was a sweet and relaxing weekend!
